That's right--here's the proof. We went on our ward camp-out for one night and actually had a great time! Carlee, Cami and Chloe had really been looking forward to this since we missed last years because Russ was in the hospital. We did miss Chelsey who had to work (conveniently). You could either sleep in an addy or bring your own tent. My in-laws have a cabin maybe 5 miles from where we were--but we couldn't convince our kids to sleep there (and believe me--I tried!) We set up our tent on the porch of the addy so at least we were on level ground with no big rocks underneath us--and also no spiders could get in our tent!
We went on some fun hikes down by the creek.
Chloe loved the tire swing!
Carlee and her friends built a fort and tried to cook the fresh blackberries you could find along the creek.
They were pretty sweet and yummy!
The weather was perfect--we were excited to get to wear jackets!
We had a great time and ended up staying for a while on Saturday. After all--who wants to come home to heat and chores!
Great fire for marshmallows and s'mores --although it was a little scary because some parents aren't as freaked out as I am by little kids waving sticks with fire on the end!
We can hardly wait for next year! (I've already started putting little ideas about how much fun it would be to sleep at the cabin--maybe it will work!)

Girls camp here you come..heehee...looks like it was fun and a great way to get out of the heat.
Looks like so much fun. I loved the ward one night campouts. Pick up dinner, eat the breakfast the ward provides and head home. That is my kind of camping, espcially when you are with such fun people. We miss the campout.
Our Youth Conference is coming up soon. We'll be tent camping near Strawberry...I'm pretty sure I'll freeze to death or something! ;)
