Graduations!!

We had four graduations this year--Cami from kindergarten, Clay from 6th grade, Cassie from 8th grade and Chelsey from High School. It was quite an eventful day. The 8th grade graduation is held outside in the courtyard of the school with limited shade, so you basically bake for 1 1/2 hours. This year was completely different--cloudy and breezy--almost on the verge of being chilly!! (hard to believe). It was perfect and we actually really enjoyed it. Then it started raining about 10am and we thought surely it wouldn't rain all day and ruin the High School graduation--after all we do live in Gilbert, AZ. The principle of the high school even told them at practice at 7am to tell their parents not to worry about the rain--it had never rained enough to cancel graduation in the history of Gilbert Public Schools. All day, I kept looking outside and it was still raining with no break in the clouds at all. Needless to say--it rained all day and night. We had to have Chelsey's graduation inside. They put all 68O students in the auditorium and then the parents and family had to watch it on big screens in the cafeteria, gym, and classrooms. What an experience!! I was very sad at first--after all, she is my first to graduate, but what was I going to do. So we cheered extra loud when her name was read and we watched her on the screen. I videoed the TV screen and she could hear us yelling when we watched it later. Afterwards--still pouring, we came over here for cake and munchies. It was a night we will all remember--and definitely exciting. Hard to believe I am old enough to have a daughter who is done with High School! (Ha! Ha!) We are so proud of her and all of our kids!!
